A geared and skilled rogue can still put out some impressive numbers, but that's not the primary function of the class any longer. The 'Glass Cannon' paradigm is no longer the mantra of the class. Controlling the tempo of a fight is the main utility of a rogue with modern levels of resilience and health. In Catacylsm-era PvP, control is the most important tool a Rogue has. It's just for Cataclysm any future expansion this guide will be its out-dated. Chances are, they just haven't read this guide yet. If you see a subtlety rogue with a sword, ask them why.

A good habit to get into is to ask other rogues why they do what they do, and nicely point them on their way if they seem not to understand something. A spec that works fine for someone else may not work for you, and vice versa. Subtlety's tree is very customizable for PVP.
